Manuel Concepción CC and Paulino RN, aged 44 and 60, were arrested today for the murder of two men on the night of Tuesday, located in the Oxkutzcab-Maní highway.
The first one is a farmer from Chetumal, Quintana Roo, and the second one is a ranch caretaker born in Mexico City.
There was a family relationship between the victims and the alleged perpetrators, and they had previously had hostilities due to an old theft.
The State Police of Investigation (PEI) of the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) and the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) managed to prove the probable responsibility of the accused in the double homicide.
During the investigations carried out since the discovery of two lifeless bodies at the entrance of an irrigation unit, evidence was collected that clarifies the unfolding of the events and the probable involvement of the accused.
The assailants allegedly arrived on the night of the 16th in the town of Maní in a compact car, found the now deceased individuals, forced them into the vehicle, and transported them to the location where they were killed.
One of the potential murderers was carrying a firearm and the other a machete with which they deprived their victims of life.
Both individuals were brought before the judge who ordered their arrest.
